Hello, I am a 40 year old non smoker, bmi 24, after having three children and losing 50 pounds. I am looking to have a mommy makeover, with saline implants potentially AB etching, and an arm lift because even with all the weight training I am doing the bat wings won’t go away nor will the “pouch”. Can you advise the order with which you would recommend undergoing these surgeries with a concern for: 1. Safety and recuperation 2. Optimize my results 3. Minimize number of times under anesthesia.

Answer: Combining procedures Combining procedures is common and considered safe, but there is a limit. Typically surgeons will limit surgical time for elective procedures to six hours. You may be able to combine an arm lift with a tummy tuck in the same day. An exam by a board certified plastic surgeon is needed to let you know for sure.

Answer: Procedures safe to combine It’s possible to do an arm lift, breast augmentation, and abdominal Liposculpture at the same time. The thing is, by you mentioning the word “pouch” combined with 50 pounds of weight loss, it sounds like an abdominoplasty might be indicated. It may be safe to do those together, but it’s a hard recovery not being able to use your abs or arms for 6 weeks. That said, I have done this combination for good candidates with lots of post op help and recovery time. I recommend consulting a board certified plastic surgeon. An in person consultation would make a difference regarding what is safe and reasonable.
