I got my lips filled with Vobella 10 days ago and I am noticing on my right side of my top lip some lumps. It is more noticeable when I smile as it hangs down a bit. Is this excess filler or is it still bruised that need to go away. This side of my lip is still somewhat sore.

Answer: Lumps after Volbella Thank you for your question mccalanni. I am sorry to hear about your situation. Volbella is a hyaluronic acid filler designed to enhance the lips. Lumps and bumps are normal for the first 2 weeks. Gentle massage will help smoothen it out. I do not recommend that my patients apply firm pressure because this has led to movement of the product in some patients. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: Lumps after Volbella in lips Thanks for your question and photo and yes you can have swelling and lumps following the lip injections for up to two weeks after the procedure. Your provider should have told you this. We always recommend that you have these injections performed in the offices of a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon as we are the true experts in lip injections. If, at two weeks, you are not happy with the results, hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve and remove the filler. Hopefully, with ice and gently massage, all will turn out fine for you.
