I’m 39 & had two vials of Kybella over two weeks ago & am still very much inflamed. Is this normal? Are there products to help? Thank you in advance!
Answer: Inflammation post Kybella It is typical to have swelling, redness, tenderness for 1-2 weeks after the Kybella treatment. Although, it is possible to still have inflammation at this point, it should have at least improved at this time. If not, I would have it assessed to make sure that there is no infection. If there is no signs of infection, then you can take Bromelain 500 mg 3x per day to help reduce the inflammation or you can take Advil 400 mg 3x per day with food to help and then stop once it reaches baseline.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Swelling Post-Kybella Swelling is a very normal and anticipated side effect of Kybella treatment and indicates an inflammatory response which is desired.Typically patients have the majority of swelling resolve by two weeks but some patients experience swelling longer, especially if the initial swelling was significant. Firmness and nodules may develop and be present for weeks beyond this. However, I recommend you contact your treating doctor so he/she can ensure you are experiencing normal healing.

Answer: Post Kybella inflammation and swelling HelloA picture would have helped but what you describe it is expected after Kybella.Kybella has a slow recovery and it is for very mild double chin. It normally should be injected 3-4 sessions. total costs may exceed liposuction.Liposuction is only once and recovery fast. It is also performed under local anesthesia. All the Best.

Answer: Yes this is normal it would've been nice if the provider told you how this product works. I am not a big fan of this product. The inflammation and swelling people experience is far too much. The final results are in precise and can be catastrophic if the product over treats. Liposuction is so precise and the recovery is so much easier I don't know why were still using this product. It will settle down and you will eventually see your results. Hopefully you're a good candidate for this treatment and your results will be good. I would highly encourage you to speak up publicly about your experience and help others so they know what they're signing up for when they choose Kybella. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
