Can Kybella remove too much fat?

Great Question,Typically Kybella takes a series of treatment to get to the desired end result , there is not any other treatment that can target that area of stubborn fat besides maybe doing some Smart ipo this does depend on the location of the area as well. We see our patients every 6 weeks to ensure results and expectations. Thank you for your question. It takes a series of treatments to get good results with Kybella. Keep in mind, Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend a combination approach with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is the best alternative for contouring the chin. Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office.  I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable.  It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.

Hi, thank you for the inquiry. Kybella fat removal depends upon the amount of deoxycholic acid injected. Its response varies from person to person and usually 3 to 4 treatments are required. Fat removal should always be controlled, excessive removal can result in loose skin and asymmetry. I would recommend you to have in person consult with a reputable injector for further evaluation and discussion about your desired goals.

This is one of the several reasons why I don't like this procedure.  Having too much fat removed is disastrous and leads to disfigurement which cannot be corrected.  My recommendation is liposuction performed by a highly skilled board-certified plastic surgeon.  In my opinion this is much more predictable and gives very definitive results. More than anything confirm that you are a candidate for fat removal in the first place. Way too many people seek fat removal when there are underlying problem is a skeletal facial imbalance and the best treatment is a chin implant.
