As you have learned a chin implant improves the anterior projection of the jawline but will not change anything behind it. Your lower jaw is underdeveloped. Your first image shows the narrowness and the side views show the weaker profile. You are quite correct that you cannot just focus on the 'front' of the jaw but should consider jawline augmentation from the angles to the chin to get a more defined jawline in 3 dimensions.
