Would a chin implant help elongate my round face? (photos)

I have a round face that has bothered me since I became aware of my face shape as it makes me appear younger than I look but I’m not sure what would be the right procedure to make my face more into an oval and more defined face.

The best procedure to vertically lengthen the chin to help deround the face is a vertical lengthening bony genioplasty. This method is more ideal for chin lengthening than an implant in many cases because it creates a better stretch of the soft tissues.

You may be a good candidate for chin augmentation which can be done with a sliding genioplasty, implant or to sound agree with the use of fillers.

Perhaps adding some vertical heights and slide forward projection would be appropriate. Adding excessive forward projection will deep in your labiomental angle which may or may not be to your liking.

Talk to local board-certified plastic surgeons or oral surgeons in your community about treatment options.

The sliding genioplasty and implants both have advantages and disadvantages and some providers favor one over the other.

It seems to me that oral surgeons are more keen to do the sliding genioplasty while plastic surgeons seem to rely more on implants.

In the end the key is to find someone who has a lot of experience and has been doing this for a long time.
