I have an odd shape. I want to look like the woman in the blue dress. But, my shape is almost exactly like the woman in the brown -wider hips and smaller chest. I am normal weight (120 pounds, 5'4") and no matter how much toning (or weight loss) I do, I always have this shape. My butt is flat (and I don't want a J-Lo bottom or "Brazillian Butt"), my hips are the wide and my waist is rather short. Is there anything that will change this?I fear a breast enlargement would make me look wide all over
Answer: Wide hips and small chest concerns Hi hoki, When I undertake consultations with patients who have concerns about body shape, this is typically a body contouring concern regarding the breast and torso. Breast enhancement is one of the things to contour the body; in fact most women want implants to look more feminine and balance their figure as opposed to having larger breasts, per say. Smaller and more proportionate breast implants are more popular in the northwest and northeast parts of the country as well as in Europe and Japan. The national trend is to go to smaller breast implants as even those celebrity women who known for being well endowed are downsizing their breasts. These surgeries can result in breast lifts and support materials and can be expensive. The question is do you want implants at all? Without seeing you in consultation it is difficult to recommend any body contouring procedure. We do complimentary consultations and use a Vectra 3D imaging system to show you what your breasts will look like after implants. We also can discuss which contouring procedures may help. All of us have different body shapes. I like to think of the Chorus Line Rocketts where each women has a different shape. And consider that they are selected from across the country as professional dancers for their attractive bodies. Lol

Answer: Breast Augmentation & Body Shape A breast augmentation will certainly change the shape of your body, but whether it will be what you want is up to you. I would suggest that you schedule an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss. You will need an in person exam to determine the size and type of implant. Then, "try out" the suggested implant size with either a gel insert or the at home rice method. See if you like the way it looks. Good luck, Dr. Nazarian

Answer: I have wide hips, short waist and small chest. Will anything make me more proportionate? Hard to answer this question without your photos or an in person exam. Best to see a board certified plastic surgeon who can examine and evaluate you and recommend the best options for you. I suspect some degree of liposuction/fat grafting may help you get the results you are looking for! Good luck!

Answer: I have wide hips, short waist and small chest. Will anything make me more proportionate? Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, online consultants will not be able to help you with precise advice. I would suggest that you meet with board-certified plastic surgeons to discuss your goals in person. In my opinion, the more "visual aids" you can demonstrate to your plastic surgeon, the better. The use of goal photographs and computer imaging may be very helpful. On the contrary, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup" or "proportionate" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Best wishes as you go through the consultation process and for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Breast enlargement Well, before even committing to a consultation, why don't you try a simple rice test at home, and see how you feel with larger breasts? There are many videos on how to perform a rice test, even on RealSelf, and that should give you a reasonable idea of your new proportions and of how much volume you would need to achieve a result you like.If you are happy with what you see, then go ahead a book a consultation with a qualified surgeon near you.
