Hi, I will be turning 50 next week and am so self-conscious of these lines. I have had Voluma injected twice to raise the cheeks but it did not help. My injector said it was due to weight loss and more Voluma would help. Yesterday she said that more product would make very little difference for the money spent. I asked if any surgical options would help and she thought not, something about the placement of my muscle for smiling. I feel like there must be other options, Thank you in advance.
Answer: Effacing the Nasolabial Folds In my opinion, adding more Voluma to the cheek would not result in the correction that you seek for the nasolabial folds. Placing a filler such as Juvederm, or fat harvested from another region of the body, into the folds with proper technique would result in a dramatic improvement. Specifically, your folds are more noticeable superiorly (at the level of the pyriform aperture) and careful placement by a plastic surgeon in this area can result in a terrific result.

CONTACT NOW Answer: PDO threads for smile lines that do not resolved with cheek filler Hello and thanks for posting. An accepted approach for treatment of naso-labial folds is injection of filler into the cheeks to lift the midface and soften these smile lines. But this strategy does not always completely get rid of smile lines and it is appropriate to place some filler under the smile lines to soften them further. Another method to reduce smile lines in the use of suspensory PDO threads. These barbed threads attach to the deep dermis and lift the mid-facial regions. The threads themselves are dissolved over about 6 months and a collagen band replaces the PDO thread for longer lasting results. Good luck!

Answer: Nasolabial folds Thank you for the photo! It's very helpful. For global improvement, Voluma would be used to lift the cheeks and improve the nasolabial folds (NLFs) indirectly, while Juvederm or Vollure would be injected directly into the NLFs for immediate and noticeable improvement. If cost is a concern, focus on treating the NLFs directly with Juvederm Ultra Plus which can last up to one year.As with all cosmetic treatments, especially when it comes to fillers, the skill of the doctor is of utmost importance. Don't trust your face to just anyone! Consult with an expert in facial aesthetics to maximize your results while minimizing side effects. You'll be happier and save money in the long run.

Answer: Nasolabial folds thank you for your question & photo. From your photo it appears as if you are very good candidate for injection of hyaluronic acid filler directly into the folds to reduce their appearance and depth. Cheek injections help with volume but will not necessarily help with the deepness of the folds. I would recommend following up with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a consultation and discussion regarding your options.
