Hi @Plucky992068! I recommend seeing an expert rhinoplasty specialist for in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of Luck, Dr. Nima!
Even if your nose has a bump, it’s not huge. Removing the bump is not a difficult operation, and a good enough result can be expected. After removing the bump, performing osteotomy to narrow the width of the nasal bone is the way to get a balanced result.Although you said you were satisfied with the size of the nasal tip, objectively speaking, your nasal tip is bulbous, and changing it into a slightly slim one is the way to turn it into a much more attractive nose tip. Of course, the choice is yours.
Thanks for the photos to review. I agree with all of your thoughts. There is a slight chance that your nose will benefit from looking just a little taller towards the top. The rest of it should be made smaller, more narrow and the tip should be rotated up. Looks like it’s time to go get a real consultation. It’s very important for you to communicate well with your surgeon regarding your goals. Take photos of celebrities/models/friends that show noses that you like. Good luck.
Based on these photos, you seem to be excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. It should include shortening, narrowing and lowering of the nose and significant tip refinement. Without in person consultation, it is impossible to say whether you would benefit from septal surgery as well. Good luck.
Thank you for the question. Rhinoplasty can help define your tip and narrow it, and do so in a subtle way. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Double board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, Houston. TX.
Changing the width of your nose: your nose appears to be slightly long, slightly over projecting slightly wide, and bulbous in the tip. A Rhinoplasty can address all of these issues. I think if you addressed all about the bulbous tip the tip would look even more bulbous and less in conformity with the rest of the nose. So if you do reduce the length and width and projection of the rest of the nose you should give serious consideration to reducing the bulbous tip in proportion. I don’t think too many surgeons would do the rest of your nose and leave the tip untouched.
Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an examination and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique.Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on very limited photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla, California
Hello and thank you for your question. Although an exam in person is ideal, from your photographs alone it appears that you can benefit from a tip rhinoplasty where the nasal tip cartilage is modified to narrow it, rotate it up and create a slightly more refined, feminine, less bulbous look as...
Broad nasal tip post rhinoplasty: if your nasal tip still looks broad and lacks definition one year after rhinoplasty this could be due either to thick skin, or a buildup of scar tissue, or both. In some cases both of these issues can be addressed with Cortizone injection to the tip and supratip...
It is possible to elongate the nose, when needed, using cartilage graft(s). However. only on the basis on in person consultation, an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon, board certified plastic or ENT surgeon, will be able to discuss your options. Good luck.
