My bulbous tip and droop when smiling bothers me the most. Would I be a good candidate for rhinoplasty?

There are many considerations to make when one is possibly considering rhinoplasty. This includes whether one has concerns regarding one's nose that can be corrected surgically, not to mention valuation of the process itself, cost, risks, psychological concerns etc. A tip that is hanging down off and benefits by being elevated. Most feel that this would be a cosmetic improvement and also makes one look younger. This may or may not influence cost of rhinoplasty. How surgeons price procedures vary dramatically. Some may have one price for the procedure, others may price according to time it takes to do the procedure. Rhinoplasty does have a series of sub techniques that are utilized depending on the individual concerns and goals. A good consultation with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon would be your best bet.

Hey there, and thanks for posting! You are an excellent candidate for cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery given the nature of your concern. A drooping or "plunging" nasal tip is a very common concern that rhinoplasty surgeons address at the time of the operation. The nasal tip can be set to be closer to the face - also known as "deprojection" - as well as rotated slightly upward - also known as "rotation". In addition to techniques that create stability in the nose, when performed correctly, these maneuvers create a slender, elegant, and aesthetically positioned nasal tip both at rest and during smile. Rhinoplasty for noses with drooping bulbous tip: In the photos you present, your nose appears to be slightly long and over projecting with a slightly plunging and bulbous nasal tip. These are all among the most common issues addressed in Rhinoplasty and do not increase the cost.

A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish reduction of the bulbous nasal tip, straightening the columella, narrowing the bridge line, and shaving down the dorsal hump with all of the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. Also important to release the depressor septi ligament which dynamically pulls your tip downward when smiling.
