Let's clear up- a fundamental misunderstanding first. "Nonsurgical nose job" does not mean you get all the benefits of surgical rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty or turbinoplasties. It means that some improvements in appearance can (possibly, in some cases) be made better by injectables such as HA fillers, Radiesse, or others. You have both breathing and appearance issues, and if the external post-traumatic deformity is both severe enough and directly related to the old injury, the entire surgical procedure may be considered reconstructive in nature, and therefore (potentially) covered by your insurance. Then, the cost is your deductible, or co-pay, which is some cases and some policies (depending on what you chose and how much you pay) may be ZERO! But even if you end up paying some or all of the fees, get only what you need, not the totally inappropriate nasal injections which will do nothing to help your breathing problem and will likely only partly improve your appearance. See one or more ABPS-certified plastic surgeons with experience in rhinoplasty surgery (ASAPS members), and obtain consultations where your nose can be examined, insurance prior-authorized, beneits ascertained, and a surgical plan discussed in detail. If you like what you hear, proceed. If not, try, try, again until you get someone with whom you click and whose work you like! Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
