I had a root canal with crown five months ago after gum surgery. Hurting. What could be the problem?

I've been getting food stuck around base of cap. Pain has gotten worse over time but no sensitivity to temp. Just took ibuprofen and it helped a lot. What could be the problem?

It is probably a piece of your temporary crown that has fractured off.  It's also possible that it is just a little big of extra material that was loose and has now surfaced.  I suggest going in to see your dentist as soon as you can to make sure that it is intact your temporary crown or ex...

The first question is what is the material of that crown? It's recommended to go with the new crown as damage [microscopic] during the removal of the crown may result in marginal leakage if re-used.

Is the tooth that looks grey root canaled?  Sometimes it's very difficult to mask out the grey caused from a tooth that has been root canaled.  I suggest that you go back to see your dentist and discuss your concerns with him/her.
