The decision belongs to your plastic surgeon.You should contact your plastic surgeon immediately and tell him or her about what's going on.It would be unfortunate and inappropriate for your surgery to be canceled on short notice because of a medical condition you did not reveal.your boil is most likely not actively infected and the area you are seeing is most likely inflammation and scar tissue at this point though it's hard to say with certainty.I say this because of the amount of time that's gone by.If there was an active infection it would have eroded your skin and be draining.some surgeons will place a sterile dressing over an active boil or acne break our for elective procedures.please contact your plastic surgeon as soon as possible,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
