I have been trying to lose weight for the last 2 years via diet. Exercise is almost impossible. I can only walk as my breasts are too painful after they have been "bounced around" which follows with bruising . I still can't find a sports bra that fits properly I'm at 36O+ just for reference, so that makes it even more difficult. I am loosing weight slowly but my cup size hasn't changed, only my back size.
Answer: Reducing breast size with diet and exercise Eating healthy and exercising are effective methods of losing weight. For many women, this includes a decrease in their breast size as well. Breast tissue consists of fat but if you genetically have large breasts, you are less likely to get the desired amount of reduction from diet and exercise. Breast reduction surgery would be the best option for women who genetically have large breasts. Best wishes.

Answer: Breast reduction Dear milliecave, generally weight loss will cause your breasts to downsize, but there is a high chance that they will become saggy. Breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. I also use a SAFE liposuction technique to reduce additional fat around the stubborn axilla area and bra line. This way, my patients are achieving beautiful results with minimal incisions which reduces downtime and delivers an overall better breast shape long term.If you are considering breast reduction surgery, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Liposuction of the breasts or breast lift There are 2 components of the breast: breast parenchyma and breast fat. If you are heavy, losing weight will decrease the fat content of the breast but will not decrease the parenchyma. If you have a lot of parenchyma and very little fat then weight loss will not be effective. An alternative for you to consider is liposuction. This will decrease the size but the skin will hang. Another alternative to consider is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
