I got a breast augmentation a little under 2 months ago, unfortunately one areola has become significantly bigger than the other. I scar terribly and want to avoid nipple reduction surgery. I wondering since I have very light colored areolas, is it possible to have them bleached and possibly tattooed darker so they can appear the same size and smaller? My right areola is a great deal bigger

Good question. Breast reduction surgery entails removal of skin as well as a reshaping of the breast tissue itself. The technique used for shaping the breast tissue depends on surgeon preference as well as on the breast size / nipple position and patient expectations amongst other things....
The best person to answer this question is your surgeon. He could have been describing the density of the breast tissue. Some women have very fibrous breasts which make them dense. Others have less fibrous tissue. The only one who can tell you for sure is your surgeon.
Tattoo of the areola skin can be done to help better match the appearance of the opposite breast. You will want to get clearance from your surgeon before proceeding with the tattoo. The pigmentation will not change the texture of the area, but will help with color match.
