Hello and thank you for your question.Yes it is possible to have this removed at time of surgery. Contact your surgeon to discuss this. Best wishes!
Yes, a benign mass can be removed at the same time of a breast reduction. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Hello,Thank you for your question. It's difficult to answer for sure without more info about the mass and your breasts, but chances are it can be done at the same time as a breast reduction. As you probably know, a lift is performed as part of the procedure as well. It is covered by insurance and it can even possibly be done in an office based OR setting, which is more comfortable and convenient than a hospital. Breast reduction is a great procedure with an extremely high satisfaction rate.Mark G. Albert, M.D., F.A.C.S.New York, NY and Boston, MA
Dear Ebunoluwa,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is possible to combine breast reduction and mass removal. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Good question. Breast reduction surgery entails removal of skin as well as a reshaping of the breast tissue itself. The technique used for shaping the breast tissue depends on surgeon preference as well as on the breast size / nipple position and patient expectations amongst other things. Depending on the technique used (how breast is shaped and how the nipple is raised) will make a different as to whether your mass can be removed. An in-person examination and history to discuss position of the mass, technique for reduction, your expectations, surgeon preference in addition to other aspects breast reduction consultation is best.
Yes it may be possible for the benign mass to be removed at the time of your breast reduction depending on the size and location. You will want to have test results indicating that the mass is considered benign. Speak with your surgeon about your concerns at your consultation.
Hi and welcome to our forum! The precise pathologic nature of the breast mass must be known before breast reduction surgery. A microscopic tissue diagnosis is necessary. This can most likely be determined with a frozen section pathology test where the removed mass specimen is quick frozen and dye stained. It is then evaluated by a pathologist and a diagnosis made while the patient is still in the operating room. If PROVEN benign, the breast reduction may proceed. If a malignant tumor is unknowingly incompletely removed or if tumor cells seed the surgical field during removal, the outcome could prove negative.Best wishes...
The best person to answer this question is your surgeon. He could have been describing the density of the breast tissue. Some women have very fibrous breasts which make them dense. Others have less fibrous tissue. The only one who can tell you for sure is your surgeon.
Tattoo of the areola skin can be done to help better match the appearance of the opposite breast. You will want to get clearance from your surgeon before proceeding with the tattoo. The pigmentation will not change the texture of the area, but will help with color match.
