I had about 15 units of Botox injected into my 11 lines back in February. I noticed about a month ago that I had a bulge or lump under the skin above my eyebrow that was never there before. What could this be and how can I get rid of it.
Answer: Lump Under Skin At Site of Previous Botox A lump from botox injections would occur immediately or be seen within a few days after treatment. It is likely there is something else occuring. Please seek an appointment with a dermatologist for evaluation. I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Lump following botox I would doubt that the lump in the photo was caused by a botox injection. I would recommend that you see a dermatologist to figure out the cause of the lump. Best of luck

Answer: Botox Dear patient, I don't know your past medical history, medication history, how much Botox was injected and exactly where or by whom. Having said that I can tell you that the Botox you had injected in February has already dissipated. Botox has been around for nearly 30 years now and all the studies clearly indicated that the body metabolizes Botox and muscles return to their prior state with 3-4 months. Having said that I can clearly see the swelling above the medial aspect of your right eyebrow. I wonder if you have the same thing on the other side. I assume that the other side looks normal and try to respond to your inquiry. The swelling does not correspond with an area in which Botox is routinely injected. Did you have bruising or excessive swelling right after the procedure? Did you ever have fillers injected in that area?I write to you because I am concerned and want to encourage you to see a Dermatologist. You may have an unrelated cyst or fatty tumor called Lipoma in that area. Lipomas ususally develop over many years but can rarely come about quickly. A cyst is a collection of sebum and pus and needs to be drained and treated with antibiotics. Please consider seeing a Dermatologist and have a thorough evaluation. i hope this was helpful. Yours. Dr. David R

Answer: Most probably not related I have been injecting Neurotoxins since 1994 and I have not seen that kind of lump associated with Neurotoxins injections, especially 2 months later. I would have to assume that the lump is unilateral correct? Did you have a bruise right after the injection? a small hematoma (at the time of the injection) will give you a lump that may take several weeks to go away but it would be tender on touching and associated with a bruise. Since it has been a month since the appearance of the lump I urge you to seek medical attention.

Answer: Lump Under Skin Following Botox Thank you for your question. Because the lump did not occur right after the injection and it is still there months later it is not associated with the Botox. I would recommend seeking a professional opinion from a dermatologist in regards to what is causing the lump on your forehead.
