Is Plastic Surgery Surgery Less Expensive if You Are Having Multiple Procedures?

Yes there is a discount for multiple procedures at our Institute since the time is shorter and we pass that savings on to the patient. 

The Mommy Makeover is a combination of procedures to bring a woman’s body back to the way she looked prior to pregnancy. Most commonly some variation of a #TummyTuck and #BreastSurgery are performed. Additional procedures can include liposuction, umbilical hernia repair.  The most common #breastprocedures include #mastopexy or #breastlift, #breastaugmentation, or #breastreduction.  #Combined operations are often performed with our #Gynecology colleagues. Tubal ligation is a common post pregnancy procedure which is done at the time of many of the surgeries included with a #MommyMakeover. If you require a gynecologic operation or study (laparoscopy) and are considering a plastic surgery procedure, discuss these issues with your physician and board-certified plastic surgeon. Also, combining these #procedures may decrease anesthetics, costs, and recovery time.The costs of a #Mommy Makeover will depend on several factors. Such include the geographic location, the skill and experience of the surgeon, and operating room and anesthesia fees. Practice will vary from one office to another when it comes to cost of surgery; in many practices, "secondary" procedures are discounted.  Best to address this question directly to your chosen plastic surgeon. It is best to evaluate each patient's suitability for combination surgery on an individualized basis. During this consultation process, after a complete history and physical, the SAFETY of combining these surgical procedures becomes of paramount importance. Plastic surgeon, anesthesia provider, duration of surgery, surgery facility all important considerations. Your best bet: choose your plastic surgeon very carefully; everything else including good judgment/advice/planning, anesthesia provider and safe surgery facility will follow.  Best wishes.

Usually, if more than one cosmetic procedure is performed during the same surgery, the cost of combined procedures is less than if the procedures are performed separately. This is true not only for the facility and anesthesia fees but also for the surgeons fees. The reason is that less time is involved on the part of the surgeon and his/her staff and often there is lower cost of surgical supplies if multiple procedures are performed at the same time. This cost savings can then be passed on to the patient. It can be a win - win situation for the patient and doctor from a cost standpoint. However, it is important that you are healthy enough to undergo a multi-procedure operation and that you are prepared for the recuperation. Additionally, you should discuss the safety level of having the procedures done at the same time.

Absolutely. In most cases, a multiple procedure discount is provided. This reflects that fact that multiple procedures are performed with a single anesthetic, a single procedure setup and your plastic surgeon can use their time more efficiently. This usually will translate into a savings for you. Another thing to consider is that combining procedures that have downtime means that you will only need a single recovery as opposed to having the procedures performed separately and missing more time away from work or social activities.
