The ironies with breast lifts is that they tend to button out and lose the upper fullness. There are many strategies to try to avoid this but most are hit or miss. I don’t know exactly what procedure you are referring to. If it worked well I would certainly know about it and many plastic surgeons would use it. The fact that it is rarely used indicates it probably is of little or no benefit.
Dear pinkgolden11,my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will et more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The breast lift technique I use is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, excess skin is used to make straps which are woven in and out of the breast tissue and pectoralis major muscle. This is done to reshape the breast tissue, elevate it higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase the cleavage. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
A dermal sling is your own tissue from the base of excess skin that is used to help support the lower beast. It can only be used if excess skin is present. Otherwise, mesh support is used. Most surgeons prefer using mesh for additional support because it does not involve additional scarring to excise the excess skin. It is mainly used in women who have lost a great deal of weight and have a great deal of excess skin, especially on the sides of the breasts for use and do need the anchor incisions.
A dermal suspension sling is a surgical technique used in breast lifts to provide additional support and longevity to the lifted tissues. It involves anchoring the breast tissue to deeper structures using sutures. It’s not always used and depends on factors such as the patient’s anatomy, desired results, and the surgeon’s preference. The decision to use a dermal suspension sling is made on a case-by-case basis to achieve optimal outcomes.
Dear Bobsdog, based on your photos, it looks like your breasts are saggy. My preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a...
