When can I play basketball and sports after gynecomastia surgery?

This is something you should discuss with your surgeon who knows you best. For my patients I want them to wait 6 weeks before resuming formal type exercise depending on how they are healing. Good luck!

While every surgeon has his or her own post op protocol, I typically have my gynecomastia patients wait at least 6 weeks before returning to exercise. Your surgeon will able to give you the go ahead or not at your next appointment. Glad that you are happy so far!

It is favorable that you are pleased with your results at 3 weeks, however you will need to speak with your physician.  Significant healing takes place by 6 weeks, however your surgeon may need to modify his/her rules based on your examination.  Best of luck. Dr. Cho

You have to be seen by your surgeon to be properly evaluated. In general, my patients usually can go back to vigorous exercise by about 6 weeks using good judgement not to overdo it.
