Piezo rhinoplasty the best method for achieving a flattering nose? And will chin filler help my nose appear smaller? (photos)

Hi @annaliz90! A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. The skill, artistry, and technique of the surgeon will determine a good outcome. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of luck, Dr. Nima.

You seem to be good candidate for rhinoplasty. I am not sure that Piezo rhinoplasty has any advantages in your case? In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in rhinoplasty is recommended. Good luck.

Aloha and thanks for your question. It appears you would be a good candidate for Rhinoplasty to narrow and refine the shape of your lower nose/tip. It's not clear from the photos that much needs to be done to the upper bony portion. Your septum probably does not have much effect on your outside appearance. Fillers[like Radiesse] would be a temporary non-surgical option for your chin.
I recommend extreme caution when considering overseas Plastic Surgery! While costs can be lower, complication rates are often significantly higher; and aftercare when you return home can be difficult. You are an e excelllent rhinoplasty candidate.and you can get a great result without the Piezo thing. I’m sure the surgeon in Turkey is excellent but you don’t need to fly half way around the world for your surgery. But it’s your decision. If you are convinced that the Turkish surgeon is for you and don’t mind traveling, I day sure, why not.

Piezo is not really a method. It's an instrument. The ultrasonic instrument (piezo) is a way to sculpt and/or cut bone. It vibrates at a frequency that allows removal of bone but not cartilage or soft tissue. Piezo instruments are only used for the nasal bone portion of rhinoplasty. Based on your photos, I don't see any major issues with your nasal bones. I see much more room for improvement in the lower portion of the bridge and the tip, which are composed of cartilage and the piezo instrument is not used on cartilage. Perhaps you are drawn to the preservation rhinoplasty method that is very popular in Turkey. This method can create a more curved profile with a lifted tip that many women are seeking these days. Piezo instruments are often used in preservation rhinoplasty but the terms "piezo" and "preservation rhinoplasty" are not synonymous. There are surgeons in the US that routinely use preservation rhinoplasty techniques and the piezo instrument. I would suggest consulting with a surgeon closer to you as rhinoplasty requires frequent post-op visits and long-term follow-up care. I hope this is helpful information.
