Question

As well as Waist on 1/06/2017. my before pictures looked way better than my pictures now. I know it's only been three days but I'm not Happay at all . I feel like everything has sunken down to my lower stomach. should I have gotten a tummy tuck? Oh and my procedure was done at sono Bello in Scottsdale Arizona

At only 4 days after abdominal liposuction patients should expect to be quite swollen.In fact, things will indeed look worse than before the procedure!  Also, it is common to be even more swollen at a week after liposuction than you are during the first couple days.It will take MONTHS before the swelling after liposuction is completely gone.  At that time, you'll likely be very pleased with your final result. So, hang in there, wear your compression garment as instructed, and try to be patient. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it is still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You will have swelling for up to 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Once the swelling has resolved, you can determine whether a tummy tuck is needed. Best, Dr. Emer

You are very early in your healing phase and do have a fair amount of swelling. Please be patient and give yourself time to heal. Do wear the compression garment as instructed. After a few months, you may be excited about the results. Please discuss any specific concerns you have with your surgeon.

Be patient and fear not.  The fluids we have to give patients for liposuction can make you 5 or 6 pounds heavier the first days after surgery. The body hold on to that fluid and salt for weeks not days so you start seeing the results for several weeks and it can take 3 months to see 75% of the result.
