I had a tummy tuck and I am eight months postop. At six months postop I noticed mild UTI like symptoms that would come and go. In the past 30 days the symptoms have greatly increased and I have to go to the bathroom frequently and feel a regular pressure to urinate. I went to my gen. doc and tested negative for any kidney issues including a UTI. My doc said it was possible that tt could have damaged my urinary track but I'm skeptical. Could tt be affecting this even though I am 8 mo post op?

Five weeks after an abdominoplasty you want to go many changes. Increased swelling waxing and waning pain are normal. Your result will not show itself until 3 to 6 months. Your recovery will take at least six weeks to eight weeks before you have resolution of the majority of your symptoms.
Please check with your plastic surgeon as every doctor has a different postop protocol. Usually if the wound is closed and there is no drainage, the belly button can be left out to the open air.
You can have trouble sleeping after a major procedure such as a tummy tuck due to the anesthesia and narcotics. Your sleep patterns should normalize as you continue in the recovery process. Please continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon.
