The best way to prevent a serious complication after a tummy tuck is do your research on your surgeon and make sure you are at an accredited surgical facility. There are many non plastic surgeons performing tummy tucks now so know their training. You have many excellent plastic surgeons in your area so just be cautious and good luck!

It is extremely rare for this to occur after a tummy tuck. It is important that we all understand no surgery is minor, but still usually is very safe. I would resonate that you make sure you are having surgery at an accredited facility and are seeing a board certified plastic surgeon. Does that guarantee that this would not happen? No. Of course not. But, what you should focus on are the thousands of tummy tucks down daily that go just fine.
