I got my first BBL in 2018 the doctor described that I had cellulite in my right cheek, it was all bubbly. Once I got home is when I seen the dents.. I asked him about it and he said that my body was still healing to just wait. The dent never came out. I got my second BBL in 2021 and I still have the dent. My left cheek is big an my right cheek is small due to the dent. Someone please help me. Should I do another BBL on just one cheek? Should I do Sculptra? Is butt cupping a option?
Answer: Considering round three BBL for right buttock dent? Long story short, if the dent has been resistant to two BBLs than a third BBL is highly unlikely to produce any different outcome. The same can be said for Scultra, not to mention this will be a very costly waste of money. There must be a significant amount of scar tissue adhesion in that area preventing any fat survival and success. At this point you may want to consider a more reliable and permanent option such as buttock implants. Importantly, please keep in mind that an extremely few number board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in buttock implants so you may have to travel far away from home to seek consultation with this particular type of plastic surgeon. Glad to be of help.

Answer: Dent Dear Bblbabydoll, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Cellulite and BBL Patients who have cellulite need to recognize that this will affect BBL results. Ideally plastic surgeons should have a more thorough discussion about this before surgery during in person consultations. Cellulite is caused by bands of connective tissue that anchored the skin it to underlying muscle fascia. It’s similar to how buttons pull in the fabric and tufted furniture. Adding more fat worsens the indentations on the problem areas why the surrounding areas project more making the problem worse. Having had a second BBL would have predictably made this worse. The connective tissue bands that cause cellulite do not stretch. The best analogy I can give and often use during consultations is to pinch and pull the skin on the back of your hand. The skin there is nice and loose and you can tent up the skin by pinching and pulling. If you’re now tried doing the same thing on the palm of your hand you’ll recognize that the skin will not lift off the palm like it does on the back of your hand. That’s because the skin on the palm of the hand has the same type of connective tissue bands holding it in place making it more rigid. These connective tissue bands are commonly found on pressure bearing areas on the body like the palms of the hands, soles the feet, back of the thigh and buttocks. Treating cellulite is challenging and only partially works to some degree. It is done through a procedure called Subsicion. This is sometimes done with a device called Celfina. Adding volume makes the problem worse not better. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
