Hello All! I had a BBL done in February 2019 and I’ve had stomach imperfections since. I don’t know if it’s fibrosis or if this look is due to aggressive, uneven fat removal. I did it all, wore my compression garment, lymphatic massage, Venus legacy treatments, arnica tea, etc. and I still have this look. I went to one lipo specialist and he said I need to go back for lipo to achieve even look, but my original BBL place said it’s fibrosis. What do I do?? I hate my stomach like this :(
Answer: Scarring , irregularities, fibrosis post liposuction this is no cure for this, the only way to try and make it better is revision liposuction with internal heating and tummy tuck/ often we will fat graft the entire flap to get softening. externally you need RF treatments weekly like legacy + shock therapy like evive or Cellutone. start trsculpt flex. but I would suggest tummy tuck scar removal + revision lipo by an expert. 60+% of my practice is now fixing this over the past 3 + years. Best, dr. Emer.

Answer: Uneven after liposuction Dear Loving5270, I would have to examine you but it appears that this is a contour irregularity after liposuction. This happens often when areas the undergo liposuction are not feathered appropriately. The good news is that it can be fixed and I have done so with good results before. While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. Answer: Fibrosis is Normal Healing The internet has created a new 'complication' called fibrosis. Fibrosis, or more commonly known as scarring, is how we heal; it is the normal sequela of every surgical procedure ever performed, including in all liposuction results, good or bad. Your issue is uneven liposuction of the very superficial fat layer nearest the skin, a most unfortunate problem. Depending on a physical exam, a treatment plan may consist of revision liposuction with fat grafting. In general, this is a problem that at best can be made better, but not eliminated.

Answer: Fibrosis? I’m guessing your procedure was done using a VASER? It looks like you were over treated with an energy device and at the same time your abdomen was treated unevenly. This is left you with very little body fat that is uneven together with excessive amounts of scar tissue because of the aggressive nature of the treatment. Some people call dad fibrosis. I call it bad technique or an undesirable outcome Because of poorly done Liposuction. People have been over treated with almost all fat removed or in a difficult position. It’s not really possible to correct this outcome. Generally treatment options are revision Liposuction, fat transfer or converting to a skin tightening removal like a full tummy tuck. Neither one of these are good options for you. There simply is no good treatment options for someone who was so aggressively over treated. I suggest patients wake up and start realizing how many people are being disfigured from the use of the VASER. I suppose there’s inherently nothing wrong with the device but it is in the end the user or surgeon who causes the problem. I simply don’t see this type of problem unless that device was used. Perhaps you could re-post and let us know what device was used. I wish I could have a more optimistic view or realistic treatment options for you. Be very careful for those who claim to somehow be able to fix this easily or that going in with a VASER and “breaking up the scar tissue“ is somehow going to make this better. Unfortunately any future surgical procedure will cause more scar tissue to some degree. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
