Electric Nipple stimulator for flat nipple?

After having a circumareolar mastopexy a year and a half ago (with permanent suture placement) is it safe to use an electric nipple stimulator for flattened nipple or can this cause areola to widen? It is said to be safe/helpful for grade 1 nipple inversions, but I’m not sure if this takes previous areola reduction procedures into consideration.
