Answer: Botox for Lazy Eye – How to Reverse or Improve Results Hello, and thank you for sharing your experience. It’s not uncommon to see temporary asymmetry after Botox, especially when it's used around the brows or upper face. Botox can sometimes exaggerate underlying muscle imbalances, like those seen in a mild ptosis or "lazy eye" especially if the injection pattern isn’t perfectly tailored to your facial anatomy. The good news is that Botox is not permanent, and the effects typically start wearing off within 8–12 weeks. In the meantime, there are a few options that may help: Prescription eye drops (like apraclonidine) may be used to temporarily lift the droopy eyelid by stimulating the Müller’s muscle. Botox adjustment: In some cases, a skilled injector can balance the appearance by carefully placing a few units in targeted areas. Avoid further Botox near the affected eye until the product wears off, to prevent making the asymmetry worse. Once everything settles, I recommend seeing a provider with advanced experience in both cosmetic and functional Botox use, especially when dealing with asymmetries or ocular involvement. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I hope you're able to get back to feeling like yourself soon.

Answer: Ptosis and Botox In general Botox is FDA approved for three indications, forehead, glabella (11 lines), lateral orbital (crows feet). Botox is typically not used to treat ptosis or "lazy eyelid" In general, ptosis is corrected with tightening the tendon and muscle complex (levator muscle advancement). This elevates the eyelid which in turn decreases the eye brow elevation that is compensating for the low eyelid position. In general, patients typically wait for the Botox effects to wear off and then reassess your natural eyelid position and eyebrow position and have a consultation regarding correction of eye lid ptosis. Answer: Lazy Eye Depending on how long ago your injections were, you could ask your injector for a brow lift on the right eye to make your eyes appears more symmetric. Otherwise, I would let the neurotoxin wear off (about 3 months) and your eye will return to normal.
