Will I get denied a BBL for having Hepatitis C & being on Methadone?

Okay, so I’ve been clean off of opiates for 5 years, I’ve worked really hard to get where I am today & I’ve been wanting a BBL for years but obviously I wasn’t in a place to do so. I’m nervous about putting in requests for consultations & that i’ll be constantly denied. I see people get denied for stuff that seems so simple. I know that Hepatitis C ‘s risk for spreading the illness is rare, but what about the methadone as well? Or both paired together? I’m really hoping to get this done

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Having hepatitis C and being on methadone aren't contraindications or exclusions to having a BBL done providing your hepatitis is well controlled and your lab values allow you to safely undergo surgery. You will experience some pain and discomfort after BBL as with any surgical procedure so you and your surgeon will need to work closely with your pain management team to make sure that you are as comfortable after surgery as possible.

Some plastic surgeons are reluctant to do elective cases and patients with transmissible viral illnesses.

Hepatitis is extremely contagious but statistically it is unlikely for a surgeon to catch it from their patient unless they cut themselves and are exposed to blood.

Still, some surgeons are picky about who they operate on.

It is actually illegal to discriminate based on patients history of viral illnesses.

Methadone is an opiate. So if you’re on that medication you are technically on opiates.

I’m sure it beats whatever you were doing five years ago.

The process typically starts by scheduling in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with the procedure. Through having consultations you’ll get a better understanding of what the procedure can and cannot accomplish, your own candidacy for the procedure and you’ll get to interview plastic surgeons.

Delivering consistent high-quality liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people think. There’s a lot of mediocre work being done despite proper board certification etc.
