Can I have Rhinoplasty before jaw correction?

I may be having jaw surgery that will alter my profile. However, I don't know when or if this will definitely happen. In the meantime, I am very unhappy with my nose. I have wanted rhinoplasty for a long time. I realize that the nose can be sculpted to better fit the profile but jaw surgery is not as flexible. It may be a year or more before I know if I can have the jaw surgery, due to some other issues. Can I have rhinoplasty first?

Your cartilage is a common donor when needed for rhinoplasty. Usually there are no significant aesthetic consequences but the cartilage will not regenerate.

Usually rib cartilage does not resorbed. Grafted bone commonly does. Rib cartilage is more likely to warp however.

From the photographs it looks as though your expectations of a rhinoplasty realistic. I would recommend video imaging with the plastic surgeon who does lots of rhinoplasties to make certain you and the surgeon are in agreement with what can be accomplished in the operating room.
