Why does my nose look the same after rhinoplasty? (Photo)

Question

On the 12th of August I had an open rhinoplasty with alar base reduction. I've always been self-conscious of the bulbous tip of my nose, so I had the procedure done and my PS also filed the sides of the bridge of my nose down. I know it's only been 2 weeks, and I'm still swollen, but my nose looks exactly the same to me! My husband said he can see a difference, but I can't. I told my PS I wanted a definite change, not subtle. I've included a before and after picture for reference. Thank you!

It is still very early to be guessing what the final result is so you should try not to worry. From the photos I can see a definite change in the shape of the tip and it appears to be a good result so far, just let the healing continue and you will start to see more differences as time goes on and swelling continues to subside.

From your photos I can assure you there is a change.  In fact, I think you will probably have a very nice result.  Your tip is going to be much more refined.  You have fairly thick skin so it will take time.  Even though we tell patients that it can take an entire year for swelling to go down, obviously that fact is hard to fathom until you have actually had surgery.  So...it is way to early to tell what the final result is going to look like.  Hang in there...
