I am very self conscious about my nose bridge and have noticed it for a while. I am currently 16 years of age and I was wondering what could be done to fix it I hate how awkward my nose proportions are. My parents don't have this deformity, why do I? Is it a deformity? Please help I don't know what's to do..
Answer: Nasal bones Your nasal bones are narrow in the upper third of your nose. It also could be that it's so narrow but that your nasal bones flare out, making the part of your nose above it look narrow. There are a few ways to correct that. Onlay grafts, osteotomies to reshape and reset your nasal bones, and nasal valve grafts to slide underneath the nasal bones. Which technique used will depend on your profile view.

Answer: Video imaging to establish aesthetic goals. The information in the photograph is quite limited. I would suggest you visit a good plastic surgeon and discuss your aesthetic goals with the benefit of video imaging.

Answer: Why is my nose pinched at the bridge and what can I do about it? Why is it so disproportionate? You can have a more refined nose that is natural in appearance. I perform these surgeries with closed technique to preserve the structure of the nose and minimize visible scarring.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Nasal pinching I think that you need to be seen in person to be properly evaluated. The photo is very limited. Best of luck.

Answer: Pinched nasal bridge. Without a history of an injury this just falls into the way you were made category. Not everything we see can be seen in our parents. 16 years of age is on the cusp of where we start doing rhinoplasties. A consultation with an experienced board certified surgeon can help you sort things out and see if surgery is appropriate.
