Is it normal to have breast pain after breast implant removal? I had my implants removed 4 months ago.

They were 350/400 mentor unders. I only had the implants in for 7 months . I still have soreness especially where the incisions and the underwire bra meet. I also have pain when I press on my breast. Is my body still healing?

Thanks for your question.  You can still be having some pain, but it should not be severe.  It can be normal to have pain 4 months after this surgery, but if it persists and is severe be sure to see your plastic surgeon.  It is always best to be examined.  Make sure your bra is comfortable and not putting too much pressure on your breasts or your incisions.  Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. Some pain still at 4 months out may be normal with healing, but it should be getting better overall over time. A softer wireless bra may help along with aggressive scar massage too. It is possible to have some soreness at this point in recovery, but it should be minor.  Be sure that the bra you are wearing is comfortable and not causing too much pressure on your incision.  If the pain is severe or doesn't improve, contact your surgeon for an evaluation.

Thank you for posting your question.  It is possible to have discomfort 4 months after surgery, particularly at the incision site.  The underwire of your bra may be part of the source of discomfort of the incisions.  You might consider changing to a bra without underwires that irritate the surgical scars.  Also, gentle scar massage may help with the discomfort as well.  As always, check in with your surgeon for follow-up  care and recommendations.   Best wishes.

It is not uncommon to still have some discomfort or pain 4 months after surgery, especially if any work was performed on your muscle. If it does persist and becomes worrisome, contact your surgeon and be examined.  Good luck on rest of recovery.

You are still recovering so it is not uncommon to still have residual pain after surgery. You could try to massage the scar and the breast, particularly painful sites. In time, the pain should resolve. Best wishes.

Your healing time is up to one year. You had not completely healed from the augmentation before removal of the implants. Hopefully everything will settle down in few months. Sometimes Neurontin can be helpful for discomfort.

Thank you for your question. In short, it can be completely normal to have ongoing tenderness or pain at this point. This should be improving slowly.  I'm not sure what kind of follow up you had with your surgeon but you should go back to see them just to make sure that they are happy with the healing.  If so, I usually massage the tender areas fairly aggressively to soften the internal scar and to desensitize the area.  Good luck with the rest of your recovery.

At 4 months it is normal to experience tenderness after implant removal.  If the pain is severe, you should contact your surgeon right away for an in person examination.
