I am 22 year old female with fair (and probably thin) skin. I weigh 53kg. I broke my nose 12 weeks ago playing sport, and did not have it reset as it was only a confirmed break ~3 weeks post injury. Will a rhinoplasty improve the appearance of my nose? The dorsal hump is more obvious post injury, and there is some asymmetry (or so I think), especially under certain lighting. Thanks so much for any advice!
Answer: Rhinoplasty after nasal trauma Hi! I commonly see patients that find themselves in a similar situation to yours. Nasal trauma can results in the nasal bridge being deviated/crooked from the front and this is a common indication for getting nasal surgery. In many cases, people can develop problems breathing after the injury and this can typically be addressed at the time of surgery as well. Usually I recommend waiting 3-6 months after the injury for definitive repair and if you plan on continuing to do activities where you'd be at risk of re-injuring your nose, this should be part of the discussion as well. Hope that helps!

Answer: How you may benefit from rhinoplasty Thank you for your question and photos. I’m sorry to hear about your injury and the unwanted changes to your nose’s appearance. It is possible that rhinoplasty can redefine the dorsal hump and create a more symmetrical shape that is balanced with the rest of your facial features. If you have thin nasal skin, grafts may be inserted to provide adequate structural support and achieve the desired result. Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your medical records and discuss your concerns and goals with you to determine the best approach.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello, It seems you have developed a hump on the bridge of your nose after the trauma. This can be corrected with rhinoplasty surgery, which will also improve the asymmetric curved appearance of your nose.

Answer: Will a rhinoplasty improve the appearance of your nose? Will a rhinoplasty improve the appearance of your nose? The swelling and reaction around the fracture site can take a few months to resolve, so your nose will probably look better in a few months with nothing but tincture of time. The x-ray seems to show a very slightly in fractured right nasal bone which seems to correspond to a slight asymmetry in one of your photos. you also appear to have a tiny dorsal hump and a slightly bulbous tip. If you wish to address those issues after three or four months of healing that is an option you would have, but I doubt the injury itself will cause enough reason to seek a Rhinoplasty just for that. in other words if you liked your nose before the fracture, it will probably be very similar to what you had once all this swelling and reaction is gone. There could however remain a slight inward curvature on the right side.
