Permalip removal. Should I wait until six weeks after removal before having fillers?

I'm having my permalip implants removed next week after having them since 2014. I naturally have extremely thin lips and permalip implants have never given me the desired look. Also they are very asymmetrical. I will want lip fillers ASAP. I have been advised to wait until 6 weeks after removal before having fillers. Is this correct? Also I am SO nervous to have them removed as having them done was SO barbaric. Will it be painful having my permalip implants removed? Thanks!

You may be a candidate for a lip lift rather than repeating fillers.  A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.  Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Permalip is the best implant on the market right now.  We used to use Softform but these always looked unnatural and there were issues with extrusion.  I have not had any issues to date with Permalip.  Consider upsizing to the 5mm and then adding filler if you want your lips even bigger.
