Who can perform a lip lift procedure?

Question

Can an oral and maxillofacial surgeon perform a lip lift procedure? Or is it something that only a plastic surgeon can do?! If both are equally capable of doing it, Who do you think might give me a better result with this kind of procedure specifically? Thanks in advance.

I am a plastic surgeon who happens to perform a lot of lip lifts. I would say that this is a very delicate operation that require all the experience and skills of a well trained plastic surgeon. I would also say that most oral surgeons would shy away from this procedure. I know for a fact that the majority of plastic surgeons don't want to get involved with this operation. So if you are looking to get this type of surgery, try to find a plastic surgeon who is very comfortable with this procedure and has all the artistic skills required to get a good result.

I would recommend that whom ever performs your lip lift, be experienced with the anatomy and has performed many in the past.  Ask for before and after photos and the number that the surgeon has performed.
