Will injections help raise my top lip a little bit rather than a lip lift?

Question

I had been looking at lip lifts ( including the sides also) as my lips have drooped only a little bit. I am wondering however, if injections will help make my top lip look raised a little bit or will it make it look worse? I dont need a big raise..I like the way my lips look when i give a very small smile. Just a bit raised. Thank you

Hello hayley7, thanks for posting your question.  Injecting filler to the lips is a good way to raise your upper lip, especially since you are just looking for a small lift.  I would recommend trying that before going under the knife.  That being said, I'd recommend an in-office consultation with an experienced injector to make sure that your expectations can be met with lip injections.  Good luck!

Synthetic fillers or fat injections can certainly raise the upper edge of the vermilion of the upper lip as they add volume. A lip lift can achieve a similar effect but only at the central or cupid's bow region of the upper lip. It does not change the whole upper lip from corner to corner. An injection approach would be a good initial step to see the effects. You can always 'graduate' to a lip lift if the result with injections is unsatisfactory.
