There is a specific surgeon located in South America in Sao Paulo, Brazil that im interested in having a FUE procedure done with, who claims to have worked and trained with or under many Top doctors here in Realself. Is also a member of the coalition and an IAHRS member and also pioneered a slit method. Is it advisable to travel from North America to South America to have a FUE procedure done for cheaper cost but with a very experienced and well respected hair restoration doctor ?
Answer: Is it necessary to travel to the other side of Planet Earth for an FUE procedure? Dear jp79,There are many very experienced and competent physicians who are a member of the IAHRS right here in the USA. In my opinion, travelling so far for a service available right here in the US doesn't make a great deal of sense unless you simply really *really* desire this specific surgeon for some reason. I'm a member of the IAHRS, and I know that there are very talented physicians who have dedicated their entire career to hair restoration surgery in the USA just as I have. I've been performing FUE surgery since 2003, for instance, and have the only ARTAS robotic hair transplant system in the State of Georgia. Many of us who are dedicated hair restoration surgeons offer virtual consultations to limit travel prior to your procedure.Your relationship with your hair restoration surgeon is not a short one. Hair loss is a lifelong phenomenon, and it's good to have your surgeon available so you can easily contact him or her as the transplanted hair grows in. You physician should also be there for you to help you manage hair loss as it progresses. Hair loss is an interesting phenomenon; it is a progressive phenomenon with no known cure. It requires not just a talented surgeon with a talented team of surgical technicians, but a comprehensive treatment plan to optimize long term success in the management of your hair loss. I’ve been going to hair restoration meetings for 13 years and I can tell you there are doctors in the USA that are easily as good as any doctor outside of the USA. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Answer: FUE In a distant country In my opinion you have many good doctors closer to your country, but if you know other persons operated by the surgeon you choose, and trust his work, of course you can travel. But for the reasons above. If you are thinking only about the cost, I doubt that after travel expenses the cost will be significantly different and, a hair transplant will last forever, so, do the best you can.
