So listen to whatever your surgeon tells you but here is my two sense. It honestly does not make a difference. We have told patients for years that these vitamins and ibuprofen all cause bleeding risks. There is some literature that would suggest it is not true. Now aspirin and other blood thinners will make you bleed more. Bottom line is if you don't need it then don't have it at this time, but I can not imagine that eating those foods are going to make you higher risk for bleeding after surgery. Again, you do what your surgeon wants you to do.
You should be fine to eat green salads and avocado. Some recommend avoiding supplemental Vitamin E as there may be an increased risk of bleeding with Vit E supplements. Best to check with your plastic surgeon about his/her specific recommendations. Best wishes for a smooth recovery.Dr. BasuHouston, TX
Thanks so much for your question, sometimes patients don't have enough time to search what is good/bad for them, prior/after surgery and you are doing your homework! congratulations! Vitamin E as a supplement is loaded, it works as an anticoagulant which would compromise the whole procedure and your recovery. Eating salads and Avocado is not only very safe but quite recommended. Good luck in your Plastic Surgery Journey!
Most foods taken in reasonable quantities will be ok.Be careful of excessive amounts of garlic as they can increase bleeding.Do stop anything containing Omega 3 as that can cause bleeding.
I think a call to your surgeon is in order. Usually after drain removal the drainage stops in a couple of days. This doesn't mean that something bad is going on, but I think your own doc is the one who should be deciding whether or not you need to be seen. All the best.

If the tissues are hard, they are still swollen. Swelling may not end at 6 months - it is the earliest it ends. It takes longer - much longer - in some people. Discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.
It depends on what aspects of the surgery. The muscle repair takes a good 6-8 weeks to have enough strength to do vigorous exercise. Also, I tell my patients no heavy lifting greater than 10 lbs until 6 weeks because I want the muscle tightening sutures to hold. The scar and the muscle t...
You really just need to be "recovered" meaning functioning close to normal, and with a normal blood count since that can be diminished after a TT. If all is well you could do this after a month. All the best.
From your photos, you could go in either direction. The skin is better removed with the additional scarring, but a midline scar is difficult to hide. I normally reserve this for patients with a pre-existing scar. Otherwise, communication with your surgeon, or a second opinion can be very helpful...
