Can a patient use CoolSculpitng and Ultrasound cavitation at the same time?

Question

Hello, I am a 38 years old overweight female and I've been doing ultrasound cavitation (dissolves fat using ultrasound) treatments (5 treatments till now). I've been introduced to CoolSculpitng (that freezes fat) and I am considering it. My question is can I alternate between both treatments (ultrasound cavitation and CoolSculpitng) at the same time? or is it inconvenient to do it (in other words: the ultrasound cavitation will melt the frozen fat cells done by CoolSculpitng)? There is no known study confirming the benefit of combining coolsculpting and ultrasound cavitation at the same time. Coolsculpting for most patients is the better approach.

Do not do the two procedures together. They are redundant.Coolsculpting alone will create death of the fat cells in the areas that are treated. The cells die and your body naturally disposes of these dead cells. You will notice a 25% decrease in the area that was treated, without the additional need of ultrasound cavitation. I have yet to see a combination procedure work to justify the increase expense.

Ultrasound cavitation, in its current technological forms, is not terribly effective.  I would not recommend it to my patients, as I don't think it's a wise way to spend money.  CoolSculpting is quite effective for people who are close to normal body weight, but have problems with particular spots where they can't get rid of fat even with their weight close to normal.  Neither technology is terribly good for reducing weight.  CoolSculpting is not a weight loss technique, it's a shaping technique.  If a patient is overweight, it's possible to obtain results that are acceptable with CoolSculpting, but unless the patient modifies their nutrition and exercise regimen, the fat will get stored somewhere else eventually.
