Female 6ft 210lbs 4 children (3vag 1 cesarean) Diastasis Recti Umbilical Hernia BMI 28 Which TT would be better for me? ETT or TT and if I did ETT would it still be necessary to get lipo to flanks or would the ETT cover that area ?
Answer: Tummy tuck with mesh If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. After 3-6 months, I would then consider liposuction of your back and flanks. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Ext TT Thanks for your question! Based on where your loose skin stops, I would suggest an extended tummy tuck. I do think you would be a great candidate and get a good result! i would encourage you to consider liposuction to the flanks. If you don't commit to that, you may still be a little hippy. Good luck!

Answer: Surgery Yu would do well with an extended tummy tuck and liposuction to the flanks. Your second options would be liposuction to the flanks and upper abdomen and the mini tuck, which still would be extended.

Answer: Considering options From your photos it appears you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction for contouring. This would address the excess skin, subcutaneous fat, and correct abdominal wall laxity. The scar would extend hip to hip, and maybe a little beyond. The liposuction of the hips and flanks would enhance your results.

Answer: Would I benefit from a traditional or extended tummy tuck? 6 ft 210 lb female w/ umbilical hernia and diastasis recti Hi. I think a lot of that really depends on what one person considers to be an extended tummy tuck versus what another person considers a traditional tummy tuck. I certainly do not think that you need a fleur-de-lis type of tummy tuck but rather what I would consider a traditional tummy tuck customized to your specific anatomy. For my approach, that would include reasonably aggressive repair of rectus diastases and liposuction of the flanks. So some of it can get wrapped up in semantics, but I think based on your pictures you could see a lot of nice benefit from that procedure. I would recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon with good experience in body contouring and specifically tummy tucks to help guide you through the process. Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell
