How long does swelling go down after rasping or shaving callus?

I just had a callus shaved (rasped) down from my plastic surgeon today. It's been over a year since my rhinoplasty and after I took the tape off I noticed a lot of swelling from the rasping of the Callus. How long will it take for the swelling to go down? I hope its not months and months like my rhinoplasty. I had two Spurs on each side of my nose and during my rhinoplasty he shaved those down. Over a year later I went to his office to get those callus that grew where the Spurs once were.

With procedures that involve the upper part of your nose only, the swelling tends to come down very quickly (days to weeks rather than weeks to months).  When the tip is involved, the swelling lasts much longer.

Swelling following rhinoplasty varies by patient and by the complexity of the procedure.  However, for a relatively simple dorsal shave, swelling (edema) will tend to resolve more quickly but can still hang around for a good 6 or 8 weeks.  Even after that however, the skin will continue to thin, and more definition will be apparent for up to a full year following surgery.  Good luck

In general, the revision surgery you described, most patients recovery pretty fast.  Follow up with your Plastic Surgeon so that he can monitor your healing.  Best to you!
