I am 5 months post lipo. I had lipo to my banana roll area and my inner and outer thigh. I have been left with creases in my banana roll area and Im not sure how I ccan fix this or if more surgery is needed.
Answer: Banana roll The banana roll area is not very forgiving and only limited fat can be removed. You could try a fat transfer back or Sculptra injections. The problem with fat in that area is that you cannot sit or drive for a while. Your other option is a posterior thigh lift with large scars.

Answer: What can be done to correct creases in banana roll area after liposuction? Thank you for your question and photos. Preop photos would've been helpful. This is a difficult problem. Besides the obvious destruction of the natural buttock creases, new ones were created that elongates the buttocks. You also have significant grooving in the right upper lateral buttock-hip junction and a deep groove the left lateral buttock. DO NOT GO BACK TO THE SAME SURGEON FOR CORRECTION. He/she does not know or appreciate the normal anatomy and certainly is not an expert in liposuction. If you were my patient, I would do VASER liposuction of the back, waist, hips and shape the buttocks and fat graft the irregularities created by the surgery. Once you heal, you will need the Goldincision procedure by adding biostimulators to the deep crease areas and detach the iatrogenically created adhesions. You also have cellulite of the buttocks which would need the Goldincision procedure to permanently fix this condition. The first procedure is done under deep intravenous sedation. The Goldincision procedure is done under local anesthesia only after you heal from surgery. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. BTW, I'm the only physician in the US licensed in the Goldincision procedure. Good luck.

Answer: Treating the banana roll The banana roll is a skin fold that forms in an upright standing position because of skin redundancy when the pelvis or hip joint is in full extension. It does not represent excess subcutaneous fat, and it’s not related to fat distribution. The banana roll should not be treated with Liposuction in my opinion. The problem is not fixed and new secondary issues are almost always created by removing fat in this area. It’s a restore and normal fat volume in the area. Fat grafting may be necessary. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of this procedure is in reality quite small. It may be challenging to improve on the outcome at this point. Revision procedures are usually substantially more complex and difficult compared to primary procedures. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
