Should I see a doctor about my uneven eyes and can they be corrected? (Photo)

Question

I noticed that the eye that opens less wide had poor vision when I was about 8 years old, the vision has only gotten worse ever since. I noticed that the same eye was occasionally lazy when I was about 14, sometimes drifting away to the side somewhat. The asymmetry is not too noticeable in person, however it really shows in photographs and is not great on my self esteem. Could these symptoms be signs of a bigger issue and can the asymmetry be corrected?

Your right eye is either more bulgy than the left or the right upper eyelid is higher than the left side. I recommend seeing an oculoplastic specialist for evaluation. Treatment would depend on the exact problem.

Hi. From the information you have provided, I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist for evaluation. You need a complete ophthalmic exam including having your vision checked, eye movements and allignent measured, and eyelid evaluation.
