Is it okay to shampoo daily after a hair transplant?

Question

i m planning to ha hair transplant. wanted to know that is it ok to shampoo daily after transplant ( I have oily hairs). Will my scalp be more sensitive that excessive shampooing should be avoided?? will I go bald early or more severely if I shampoo daily to avoid oil and dandruff had I not shampooed daily????

Greetings,
Washing your hair after a hair transplantation is an important step for restoration.  We usually have our patients start spraying hair with lactated ringers with liposomal ATP as well as other growth factors twice a day to help your hair process start ASAP.  Actual hair washing usually takes place several days after the procedure.  There are several advantages to this approach:

You should not neglect personal hygiene after a hair transplant surgery.  Wash your hair everyday.  Most doctors advise you wash your hair everyday.  It is always a good idea to follow up with your doctor unless there is a reason not to wash your hair.

Your scalp will need to heal before you can resume showering
and shampooing as usual.

During the first two weeks following your procedure, use an
alternative method for cleansing your scalp. The donor and recipient wounds
will be in the process of closing and healing. Chemicals in most shampoos can
be very harsh for the skin and can enter deeper layers. Here is a safer method.

Fill a bowl or pitcher with water. Bend your head over a
sink or bathtub and gently irrigate your scalp as you pour the water. Gently
pat dry with a clean towel.

In about two weeks,
you can then start shampooing your head as normal. These are just general
guidelines. If you have further concerns or questions, speak to your doctor for
more specific recommendations.

An FUE is treated just
like a regular hair transplant with regard to the recipient area, but the donor
area has open wounds which require daily washing with soap and water. Within 3
days of surgery, you can resume full activities, heavy exercises if you wish.
The recipient area requires daily washes as well to keep the recipient area
free of crusts. I generally recommend the use of a sponge and supply my patient
with a surgical sponge to fill with soapy water and press on the recipient area
daily. By repeating this daily, all crusts can be washed off without any fear
of losing grafts. IF any crust are present, use a Q tip and dip it into soapy
water, and roll it on the crusts and that will lift them off without dislodging
them, but never rub them, just roll the Q tip on the recipient crust. I like to
see no evidence of any crusting in the recipient area and the crusts from the
donor area gone in 7-10 days with daily washing,.

It is recommended that you shampoo after transplant  . However you need to be very gentle with the grafted area until ten days after the transplant.

After having the surgery, you can start shampooing in a week. However, I like patients to dilute shampoo in a bowl of water and gently let it run over the transplanted area without any rubbing or massaging the surgical area. You can then rinse the soapy water with a few more bowls of pure water. You can do this daily.
