I'm 45 w/former 2018 upper bleph double eyelid surgery and now have droopy lids. A surgeon told me that I just need some skin excised from my upper eyelid instead of an outer brow lift. Do I actually have enough skin for him to just cut it to make it look better? Do I need both skin cut + lift? Or just the outer brow lift? In the side-by-side collage photo, I'm pulling up my outer eyebrow on left and just relaxed on right. Sorry for pixelization editing.
Answer: How an upper blepharoplasty may be right for you Thank you for your question and photos. You would likely benefit most from an upper blepharoplasty to improve upper lid laxity and remove excess skin. Through small incisions, this surgical procedure can correct drooping and modify the fat in this area without requiring the eyebrows to be raised. The approach results in a refreshed, more awake appearance that generally lasts for over ten years. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can make the best suggestion based on your medical history and cosmetic goals.

Answer: Improving Hooded Eyelids -- Botox/Xeomin/Dysport/Jeuveau for Brow Lift, Fillers, RF (Thermage, Legacy, Viva), Blepharoplasty For significant improvement, hooded eyelids require surgery if there is enough skin. For nonsurgical treatments: Radiofrequency (Thermage or Venus Legacy/Viva), injectable fillers, and a Botox brow lift can help contour the eyebrows and lift the eyelid skin. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Upper bleph vs brow lift Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, it appears that an outer brow lift would give you a better result. I would start there and then make an assessment whether or not removal of more eyelid skin would be beneficial. Hope that's helpful. -Dr. P
