I'm wondering when is the earliest time I can get revision rhinoplasty?

I had rhinoplasty a couple months ago and while I understand that my results are not final, I can see that the bridge of my nose will not change and is uneven after first glance. I'm wondering when is the earliest time I can get revision rhinoplasty?

I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your rhinoplasty results, but I'm glad to know that you understand that the results, at 4 months post-op, are not yet final. With that said, in response to your question about the earliest time to undergo rhinoplasty revision, most plastic surgeons would agree that the patient should wait at least one year unless, of course, the benefits of performing revision work earlier would out way the downside of waiting. It's important to make sure that all the swelling and stiffness in the nose has subsided before a second surgery is performed.

Final results from a rhinoplasty can take a year or longer. However there are sometimes when a revision can be performed sooner than that. The wise patient would wait at least six months to allow for the most active scar to settle down. If there is an obvious component that the surgeon feels will not change and can be safely revised, and early revision at six months may be possible. However, many situations will warrant waiting a year. Your surgeon should be able to discuss with you the pros and cons of an early revision.

The ideal time for revision rhinoplasty is one year after the procedure.  The nose will continue to change over time with swelling and scar formation and movement of cartilage at times.  As much as it seems hard to wait it is always advisable to wait for 1 year. Not only does swelling take a year, it also takes time to re-establish blood supply, especially at the tip. Early revisions are bound to fail.
