Thank you for your question regarding the Lockwood dissector and how to get the tightest thighs during a lower body lift and a thigh lift or reduction. I personally knew doctor Lockwood very well. I studied under him and have used his technique for almost 30 years. In addition, I have owned two Lockwood dissectors. I have performed hundreds of body lifts. Please see my website for hundreds of before and after body lift pictures. Over the years, I have found that the Lockwood dissector was initially very good. However, over time I’ve developed my own special technique of dissection to provide even better results. The Lockwood dissector, in my opinion, creates too much dead space and can result in too much laxity of the skin. After performing hundreds of body lifts, I have migrated away from the Lockwood dissector. It is not essential for surgery if you know the anatomical planes. Thank you for your great question regarding the Lockwood dissector in maximizing results during a body lift and lower thigh lift. Good luck. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
