I've read alot on this website about mod plus implants and high profile. I'm still not sure what the exact difference is, and why a Dr would suggest one over the other. I'm 5"9, 135lbs, small frame (32AA) small breast width, and almost nothing to begin with. I've seen a lot of BA done where they are set far apart, or too much side boob, and I'm scared of getting the wrong type. I was told 300-350cc mod plus or 400-425cc high profile would be best for me. Dr's insight would be great.
Answer: Which Breast Implant Profile and Size is best for you It is very difficult to determine the exact profile (medium, vs moderate plus vs high profile), size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 350 cc implant to make her go from a “A” cup to a “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts). Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon

Answer: Breast implant profiles Thank you for your question. While it is difficult to give you recommendations without at least pictures, in general higher profile implants have a narrower base so they decrease The chances of having your implants be too wide. On the other hand, this may sacrifice cleavage. It's best to have consultations with board-certified plastic surgeons and preferably undergo Vectra 3-D imaging and simulation to look at the different style of implants on your body.

Answer: Breast implant projections Profile refers to how much projection the implant has (how much it sticks out). A moderate plus profile implant with the same width as a high profile implant will be flatter (less projection), and will have a smaller volume. Using Dimensional Breast Augmentation, a surgeon can determine what width, for example, fits you best. Knowing the width the implant should be, they can then recommend what implant volumes will fit your width. The high profile implant can be just as wide as the moderate plus implant, but because it has more projection, it will have more volume. That's why you've been recommended a 400-425 HP implant, as well as a 300-350 MPP one, both of which likely fit your dimensions properly. It just depends on how much volume you like.

Answer: Breast implants selection based on your measurements A high profile implant projects more (sticks out of your chest more, not sits higher on your chest) and has a relatively narrower diameter. A moderate profile of the same volume would be flatter (stick out less from your chest) and be wider. Your surgeon makes recommendations based on the width of your chest and your breasts in order to fit you better. He is offering you two implants of similar width (to fit you) but of different projections based on what look you feel would be better for you. Rounder faker look or a flatter more natural look. See our page on implant profiles for more information.

Answer: Mod Plus vs High Profile. What's the difference? How do you know what's right for you? The main differences between a high profile and moderate plus implant is the profile and the diameter. If your breasts start off wide set, that is your anatomy and they will still be wide set after an augmentation. If there is too much side boob, most likely the implant is too large for your frame or the diameter of the implant that was chosen is too wide for your frame. It would be best to go see a board certified plastic surgeon and try on the implants so you can get a feel for what you are comfortable with and then get size suggestions. ac
