Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation#weakchin #chinimplant
Hello! It is impossible to tell without photos. Volumizing the cheek can definitely alter the appearance of a long thin face. I would recommend a consultation with an experienced facial plastic surgeon to discuss your objectives and determine the best means of achieving them. good luck!
Hello,Thanks for your question. Assuming that you have underprojection of the cheek and chin areas, implants will help improve the look of these areas. For all intents and purposes, solid silicone or Medpor facial implants are permanent. They might reoperation for infection, malposition, or trauma. I would recommend that you consult with a facial cosmetic surgery specialist for more information.Good luck,Dr. Shah
In order to give you meaningful answer a serie of photos and/or in-person evaluation is needed. Generally speaking facial implants, fat grafts, fillers can be all used for treatment, most frequently a combination of those. In-person evaluation by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon would help. Good luck.
Without seeing pictures and doing some computer imaging, it is not really possible to answer your question as to what procedures would make the most difference. Skull, cheek and jaw implants are all potential options.
A full set of facial photographs are required to make a determination about being a candidate for two surgical procedures on the face. The implants, the maxilla and the mandible are all three-dimensional structures, therefore a full set of photographs are needed to make that determination. Cheek and chin implants are composed of solid silicone, are manufactured in a large array of both sizes and shapes which is usually determined time of the consultation and examination. In our practice, we use Implantech brand of cheek and chin implants for over 25 years with an excellent success rate. For more information about both procedures, many before and after examples, and diagrams of the implants themselves, please see the link and the video below
Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. When the cheeks are flat, in the front, the face tends to appear elongated. Following my beauty principles, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face. Conversely, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps
It's best to begin by consulting with a surgeon in-person to discuss your options. During your initial examination, your #chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant...
Exposure of an implant 8 weeks post-surgery is a concern so be sure to follow-up with your surgeon. In some cases, the implant has to be removed and replaced at a later date. The most problem with implants is infection and/or migration. I have not seen any cases where a patient has rejected an...
